SURA is lending its support to the "YES WE CAN" campaign, an initiative sponsored by more than 120 private sector companies to promote reconciliation and peace.

SURA is well aware of the important role that the private sector plays in building all-round, sustainable peace in Colombia.

In order to invite all Colombians to join their voices under one   single purpose, SURA has launched a song called "Corazon Valiente" (Brave Heart in English) featuring more than 10 Colombian artists.

Medellin, September 9, 2014 - SURA has joined the "YES WE CAN" campaign, sponsored by more than 120 companies belonging to all economic sectors in Colombia. The purpose of this initiative is to mobilize the Colombian people to take responsibility in transforming the country and helping to set peace-building as a higher goal.

Consequently "YES WE CAN" is the concrete message that SURA would like to give to all Colombians in encouraging peace as a common purpose.  "We join this initiative aware of our corporate role in promoting peace, but especially in fostering a more comprehensive level of development, which is what shall make this effort sustainable over time," stated Mr. David Bojanini, Chief Executive Officer of Grupo SURA.

This is the reason why the entire SURA organization, including its parent Grupo SURA and its insurance and social security subsidiary Suramericana, has decided to lend its support to the initiative, "YES WE CAN", a movement that wishes to serve as a source of inspiration for all Colombians in extending a spirit of reconciliation. Consequently, SURA would like to invite all Colombians to join their voices in supporting peace by means of the song Corazón Valiente, produced by Jose Gaviria and featuring artists such as Adriana Lucia, Alex Campos, Siam, Lucas Arnau, Pipe Bueno, Inés Gaviria, Martina la Peligrosa, Rakel, Alejandro González de Bonka, Juan Felipe Samper, Shaira and Salomé Camargo, and with Paola Turbay making a guest appearance.

"We believe that peace in Colombia is attainable through reconciliation and that this requires a generous and inclusive spirit."  Simply put, in order for there to be peace Colombians need to have a Corazón Valiente, a "brave heart", and must be ready and willing to build on our differences with absolute openness. That is the invitation that SURA extends through music, which is a language which we all believe in given its ability to unite, inspire and mobilize us into action, "stated Mr. Gonzalo Pérez, Chief Executive Officer of Suramericana.

With this song, which is now being played on the radio and the Internet and shall shortly become available as a video on digital media, SURA is delivering a message of reconciliation, inviting all Colombians to listen, sing, enjoy and share this song, so as to unite under one single voice for the purpose of securing peace in Colombia.

Corazón Valiente can be downloaded onto any mobile device (smart phones and tablet) from the iTunes and Google Play stores. The proceeds from every download shall be used by the SURA Foundation to support reintegration and reconciliation programs in different parts of the country.
