Guidance Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:GUID), the World Leader in Digital Investigations™, today announced the appointment of Ken Yearwood as sales director for Northern Europe. Based in London, Mr. Yearwood will be responsible for managing sales, channel and business development in Northern Europe (UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia), as well as South Africa.

Mr. Yearwood has more than 20 years of experience in managing sales operations within the software and telecommunications industries, with a specific focus on data security, networking, storage and backup. Prior to taking on his new role, Mr. Yearwood was the regional sales director for Websense, and prior to that, he was the director of sales and marketing in Northern Europe at Proofpoint, Inc.

“In these times of constant cyberattacks, organisations have to operate under the assumption that they have already been compromised, or will be. EnCase is a must-have for global IT security teams to help detect and respond to security threats and enterprise data breaches,” said Mr. Yearwood. “My experience in security within myriad vertical markets focused on meeting critical security demands will help broaden Guidance Software’s presence in Northern Europe and South Africa.”

“Our EnCase software has been deployed on more than 20 million endpoints, and that number is increasing steadily,” said Vince Schiavo, senior vice president, Worldwide Sales for Guidance Software. “Companies around the world understand the importance of knowing what is happening on their endpoints. Ken positions us well to capitalize on opportunities in Europe as we execute against our vision and roll out new product innovations in the months ahead.”
