H&R WASAG AG is now called H&R AG

Salzbergen, 1st August 2011. At the H&R WASAG AG Annual Shareholders' Meeting in May 2011, the shareholders resolved to change the name H&R WASAG AG to H&R AG. The initials 'WASAG' stand for 'Westfälisch Anhaltinische Sprengstoff Aktien Gesellschaft' (Westphalian Anhaltian Explosives Corporation). The Group suspended its explosives operations back in 2007. H&R stands for Hansen and Rosenthal. The Hansen & Rosenthal Group, which holds a majority interest in H&R AG, began as a trading firm selling petroleum jelly products and grew to become a global producer of crude oil-based products, such as paraffins, plasticisers and white oils, with 25 locations, represented on every continent.

The name change has been entered in the commercial register of Osnabrück and is effective immediately. As part of the renaming, the company is adopting a new logo and its stock market symbol WAS is being replaced by 2HR.
