Halfords comment on the Sat Nav Summit

Halfords, Britain's biggest seller of sat navs welcomes the Government initiative to hold a Sat Nav Summit, focusing on out-of-date directions and lorries being sent down country lanes and through villages.

Halfords Digital Expert, Nik Dix said: "Sat Navs have become a vital aid for millions of motorists, helping to navigate journeys, saving time, money and fuel. Motorists who already own a sat nav are able to update mapping software on their existing units to take into account any changes to the road network. We strongly advise motorists to do this.

"There is always rooms for improvement and Halfords is working with manufacturers on a new generation of devices with lifetime map updates such as the Garmin Nuvi 1340LMT as well as offering customers advice on upgrading existing devices."
