HALFORDS GROUP PLC: PURCHASE OF OWN SHARES

Halfords Group PLC announces that on 10 May 2012 it purchased, through Investec Bank PLC, 70,000 of its ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 276.0136 pence per share. The highest price paid was 276.0 pence per share and lowest price paid was 274.0 pence per share.

Following the above purchase, the Company has now bought back 12,854,493 shares for cancellation and 5,449,620 for transfer into treasury, since 7 April 2011 when the buy back programme commenced.
