JSC Halyk Bank informs that online shopping became more secure!

Dear cardholders of JSC Halyk Bank (hereinafter - the 'Bank'), we are pleased to inform you that all cards of the Bank will be automatically connected to the 3D Secure service from 3 April 2017. Now you can easily make purchases on the Internet using the card connected to the 3D Secure service.

No additional registration is required if:

  • the card has been already connected to the 3D Secure service;
  • you have been registered in the Internet Banking MyHalyk and connected to the one-time SMS passwords delivery service via ATM, the 3D Secure password will be sent to your mobile phone number, which you have indicated during connection to the SMS passwords delivery service;
  • you have updated the mobile phone number via Halyk Bank's ATM, the 3D Secure password will be sent to your mobile phone number, which you have indicated during updating the contact information.

Safety measures!

Only you (cardholder) may know your 3D Secure password. Please do not disclose 3D Secure password as this may entail fraudulent transactions and embezzlement from your card.

What is 3D Secure?

3D Secure* - advanced technology developed by payment systems Visa (Verified by Visa system) and MasterCard (Secure Code system), which allows to make additional identification of the cardholder by entering the 3D Secure password. 3D Secure will significantly reduce the number of disputable transactions and the level of card fraud on the Internet.

How does 3D Secure works?

When you buy using the 3D Secure technology, you get new advantages in the process of payment on the Internet. When you make transaction in the Internet shop that supports 3D Secure technology, you will be asked to enter a 3D password that is known only to you. After entering the password, a secure connection will be established between the Internet shop and the Bank with identification of the data entered by you. Payment for the purchase will be made only if the Internet shop receives confirmation from the Bank that the identification was successful.

What are advantages of 3-D Secure protection for Halyk Bank' cardholder?

  • Improvement of the security of Internet payments using both credit and debit cards.
  • You do not need to change your card in order to pay for goods or services using the new technology - you just need to get a password that enables you to work with 3D Secure.

What to do if you want to change the current mobile phone number?

To change the existing mobile phone number for one-time password, you must pass the registration procedure once again.

How to disconnect the service?

To protect your funds the service disconnection is not applicable. Internet payments are made using 3D Secure technology. If the Internet merchant does not support 3D Secure technology, then you need to remove the Internet restriction in the standard mode via Personal Internet Banking system myHalyk.

How to shop online by Visa card or MasterCard,
if the Internet shop supports technology VbV or SecureCode?

The logo of the technology on the website of the Internet shop is the sign that the Internet shop supports 3D Secure technology.

Payment procedure:

  1. Select the purchase.
  2. Make payment by entering card details requested by the Internet shop.
  3. After the Internet shop performs the required verification of card number, you will be automatically redirected to the website of the serving bank.
  4. Fill in the required fields.
  5. For identification of the user, you will be redirected to secure website of Halyk Bank, where you will enter:

- one-time 3D Secure password, received on the mobile phone number of Kazakhstan mobile operators, which is connected to the service, and/or,

- permanent 3D Secure, if you have been connected to this 3D Secure service before 3 April 2017.

Selest the phone number from the list of connected to the service for receiving a one-time 3D Secure-password, check for relevance the list of the phone numbers.

Attention!!!

It is strictly forbidden to enter the password on any other pages on the Internet. You are responsible for selecting the website and fraudulent check of the website. The Bank gives recommendations for authenticating the Bank's page for entering the 3D Secure password, be sure to apply these recommendations.

  1. Wait for the transaction result.

Possible results:

If the 3D Secure password is entered incorrectly or not entered, the card transaction will be rejected.

If the 3D Secure password is entered correctly, the transaction will be approved. The transaction can be rejected depending on the result of checking the rest conditions that are checked during card transaction (adequacy of the funds on the account, status and duration of the card, available transaction limits, etc.).

What to do, if you forget the permanent password?

If you forgot the permanent/static password, you must pass the registration procedure once again under connection to dynamical realization of 3D Secure. Re-registration of the 3D Secure service in static (permanent password) is not applicable.
