Lakeland moves to Brent Cross Shopping Centre

07.04.2014

Hammerson and Standard Life Investments UK Shopping Centre Trust, joint owners of Brent Cross Shopping Centre, have completed a deal with leading kitchenware retailer, Lakeland, for a new 350m² (3,800ft²) store in a prime location next to John Lewis.

Lakeland will move into the shopping centre from its previous location on Brent South Shopping Park, also managed by Hammerson, and will open later this summer.

Betta Living, the home improvement and kitchen specialist, will replace Lakeland at Brent South, taking a new 575m² (6,200ft²) store which is expected to open in July.

Peter Cooper, Hammerson Portfolio Director, said: "Lakeland is an outstanding specialist retailer with an established following in our catchment. Lakeland's relocation to a store within Brent Cross Shopping Centre will see a new format of Lakeland store, including a new demonstration kitchen, and will make an excellent addition to Brent Cross' growing list of lifestyle retailers."

Commenting on the deals Ed Jenkins, Head of UK Retail for Standard Life Investments, said: "Lakeland and Betta Living are great additions to our already strong retailer line up. They reflect the undoubted appeal of both Brent Cross Shopping Centre and Brent South Shopping Park for retailers and shoppers alike."
