Hammerson secures first Midlands Five Guys

28.03.2014

American burger brand Five Guys is continuing its UK expansion with a new restaurant at Hammerson's iconic Bullring centre in Birmingham.

The restaurant will be the brand's first in the West Midlands, and will open this summer located on the centre's middle level, overlooking the scheme's central atrium and popular eateries such as Jamie's Italian and Browns.

Following its UK launch last summer, Five Guys opened its first store outside London at Hammerson's The Oracle in Reading, and currently has five locations across the country.

Five Guys focuses on serving high quality, fresh burgers and fries, and thanks to a choice of toppings to customise your order, there are 250,000 possible ways to order a Five Guys burger. The restaurant will include Coca Cola's Freestyle touch-screen soda machine, which includes over 100 flavour varieties.

Starting out as a small family business in 1986, the brand has now grown to over 1,000 restaurants across America and Canada, and with 1,500 new sites planned worldwide.

Chris Daly, Leasing Executive at Hammerson, said, "Following its phenomenal success at The Oracle, we're delighted to bring Five Guys to the West Midlands. It is testament to Bullring's dominant position in the area and its existing strong dining offer that we have secured such a high-profile brand in the early stages of its UK expansion."

John Eckbert, Director of Five Guys UK, commented, "We are thrilled to be a part of Bullring and the other great eateries in the centre. We are looking forward to building a great relationship with West Midlands patrons."

Hammerson was advised by Bruce Gillingham Pollard.
