On July 8, Hamon Polska organized the inauguration of the natural draft concrete cooling tower shell of the Kozienice power plant. Mr. Krzysztof Sadowski, President of Enea Wytwarzanie, and Mr. Jacek Czerwonka, Vice-President of Polimex, honored the ceremony of their presence. Hamon delegation was headed by Mrs. Rodica Exner, Vice-President of the Hamon Group. The Air Quality Systems business unit was represented by Mr. Claus Brinkmann, Managing Director of Hamon Research-Cottrell Germany and Hamon Enviroserv.

During his speech Mr. Sadowski congratulated Hamon for the on-time delivery of a state-of-the art cooling tower. The attendees were invited to visit the tower site and later to a dinner in the Lazienki Palace in Warsaw.

The Kozienice power station, located at 85 km from Warsaw, is Poland second biggest one. A new 1075 MW block is currently being built to support Poland growing electricity needs. The plant will become Europe's biggest coal-fired power unit and the most modern one with supercritical parameters. Hamon was awarded in June 2013 the order for the natural draft cooling towers as well as for two electrostatic precipitators, the erection of which has just started.

The natural draft cooling tower, 185 m high with a 133.8 m base diameter, is one of the tallest ever built in Europe. It has been designed for a flow of 100340 m³/hr and is equipped with a flue gas injection system, also fabricated by another Hamon Group company, ACS. Hamon scope includes the civil works, the mechanical part, the thermal part as well as the internal and external flue gas ducts and its components.
