(Hong Kong, September 25, 2013) Hang Lung Properties Limited (HKSE stock code: 101) is pleased to announce that the company's prestigious office building, Standard Chartered Bank Building, has achieved the Gold Rating of Provisional Assessment under the BEAM Plus V1.2 for Existing Building of the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC). It is the first building in Hong Kong to achieve this recognition, reaffirming the efforts Hang Lung has made to adopt environmentally friendly practices throughout our portfolio in order to contribute to a sustainable community.
The Standard Chartered Bank Building has achieved credits in the following six assessment categories to achieve this recognition:

BEAM Plus is a comprehensive environmental assessment scheme recognized by the HKGBC. Projects registered for BEAM Plus certification are required to undergo a series of assessments on different aspects of building performance, including: operation and maintenance, waste management, energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality. The objective is to encourage the development of more sustainable buildings and to reduce the long-term impacts the buildings have on the surrounding environment.
