Austin, Texas, Nov. 16, 2017 - This week, Hanger Clinic announced the grand prize winner of its #AmputeeLifeHacks contest via a Facebook Live broadcast, with the help of Winter the dolphin. Over three months, contest entrants with limb loss or limb difference submitted more than 100 short videos showcasing a 'life hack,' or a tip or trick that helps them conquer everyday tasks. The goal of the contest was to connect the limb loss and limb difference community online, providing opportunities to learn from one another and receive encouragement.
After voting by both a panel of judges and the public, Courtney Rogers from Mooresville, North Carolina was deemed the #AmputeeLifeHacks contest winner, for her video showing tips that have helped her return to her job after the loss of her left arm above the elbow. Rogers and a guest will receive a trip to meet movie star and amputee Winter the dolphin, who resides at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida.
