HCP (NYSE:HCP), in recognition of its sustainability achievements, has been named to CDP’s S&P 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI), as well as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the North American region.

HCP was recognized by CDP for its environmental performance and high level of transparency and data quality for climate-related disclosure. This is the second consecutive year that HCP has achieved a position of leadership within the CDLI by attaining a score of 97 out of 100 which ranks in the top 10% of reporting companies listed.

Paul Simpson, Chief Executive Officer of CDP, said, “Global greenhouse gas emissions continue to rise, and we face steep financial risk if we do not mitigate them. The need for disclosure of corporate climate change impacts and strategies to reduce them has never been greater. For this reason, we congratulate those businesses that have achieved a position on CDP’s S&P 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index. These companies are responding to the ever-growing demand for environmental accountability and helping to inspire others to follow suit.”

Additionally, HCP was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Index North America for the second consecutive year. This achievement is awarded to the top 20% of the 600 largest North American companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index and represents the leaders within their industry that outperform their peers in sustainability metrics.

“As we continue the momentum provided from our recent recognition as the Global Healthcare Sector Leader by GRESB, we are honored to again be included in CDP’s S&P 500 Climate Disclosure Leadership Index, as well as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index North America,” said Lauralee Martin, HCP’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We recognize the importance of corporate transparency to our stakeholders, and this achievement represents our steadfast dedication to our ongoing sustainability initiatives.”
