Design your own car, bicycle or shoes online with colours, patterns and materials that show your personal taste. Personification is here to stay. Yet it is still scarcely possible to design and print parts for your own home in a simple way. That's why Heijmans and DUS Architects started their search for innovators that can design and 3D print the 3D printed wall cladding of the future.

Imagine you can design your own 3D printed wall cladding? What would this look like? Which materials, structures and colours form the perfect combination? Unleash your creativity, design the wall cladding of the future and win great prizes!

It is quite simple. This is what you must do:

1. Design your own facade on a 15 x 15 cm tile (Check the basic design here)
2. 3D Print the design and post it or have the design 3D printed at the 3D Hubs network in the Den Bosch district
3. A professional jury and the public chooses two winners

More information

The professional jury consisting of Hans Vermeulen (DUS Architects), Tim Geurtjens (MX3D /Joris Laarman Lab), Filemon Schöffer (3Dhubs), Salomé Galjaard (Arup) and Alma Krug (Heijmans), review the entries and eventually choose the winning design.

The winner will receive the designed facade element in a size of one by one meter from the life size 3D printer 'Kamermaker' by 3D Print Canal House. In addition, the winner also receives a package with 3D print material worth €250. The public will also select a favourite design. The winner of the public prize wins a package of 3D print material worth €250.

The design competition runs from 1 September to 30 September 2015. The winners will be announced on 14 October. Heijmans will reimburse 15 Euro per printed design (in the form of a refund on the material or of the costs incurred at 3D Hubs)
