Heijmans has been granted the order to prepare the public space within Greenport Venlo for construction and housing purposes. After the tendering procedure, the order was granted by Development Company Greenport Venlo (DCGV). The turnover involved in the contract will depend on the speed of the development and the final realization. Eventually, Heijmans will achieve a turnover of around € 30 million. The work will start as of now.

DCGV, founded by the municipalities of Horst aan de Maas, Peel en Maas, and Venlo, and the Dutch Province of Limburg, manages the integral area development of Greenport Venlo. Heijmans will realize a temporary area development, so that new companies will be able to establish in this area. Subsequently, the company will also take on the final infrastructural layout of the public space.

The working scope represents approximately 20 percent of the total area, which covers around 600 hectares. The work involves the complete layout of both underground and above-ground infrastructures, the water system and the green structure. The duration of the contract is equal to the area development, i.e. approximately fifteen years.

This order fits Heijmans' ambition to be a long-term and valuable partner in the infrastructural quality of public space - from design and realization to maintenance and management.
