ΟΤΕ Group: High environmental performance in 2015

The reduction by10%of direct and indirect greenhouse gases emissions (GHG), the recordingfor the first timeof indirect GHG emissions resulting from the use of products and services from customers and the alternative management of90%of generated waste were all three achieved by the OTE Group in 2015, according to data released on the occasion of World Environment Day.

Ms. Deppie Tzimea, Corporate Communications Executive Director at OTE Group, said: "OTE Group's strategic objective issustainable business. In this context, the environment can only be at the heart of our operations. In doing so, we minimize the environmental impact of our activities, we offer products and services to increase productivity and protect the environment, and we constantly strive to raise awareness. By harnessing technology and innovation, we seek to build a better world for everyone".

In 2015, the Group:

• Reduced by 10% the direct and indirect emissions of greenhouse gases from energy consumption compared with 2008, despite the increase in activity and the expansion of networks.
• Recorded for the first time indirect GHG emissions resulting from the use of the Group's products and services by its customers, which amounted to 199,512 tonnes of CO2. The goal is the provision of products and services at reduced emissions.
• Reduced by 25% of the total fuel consumption in comparison with 2008
• Saved 57 GWh of energy.
• Secured for the fifth consecutive year of PPC SA, Guarantees of Origin of Electricity from Renewable Energy Sources (RES). The guarantees certify that for all the energy consumption of PPC, equal energy was produced from RES.
• Managed alternatively 90% of the waste, which reached the 7,400 tonnes.
• Recycled more than 90 tonnes of material (paper, packaging material, cartridges, small electrical and electronic appliances, household batteries and lamps), through the internal recycling programme now implemented in 15 buildings of the Group and is addressed at 7,000 employees.
• Recycled 51 tonnes of material (telephones, batteries, printer cartridges) through COSMOTE-GERMANOS recycling programme retail network.

On the occasion ofWorld Environment Day, consumers who will recyclefrom 2/6 to 16/6portable devices (mobile phones, smartphones and tablets) at the COSMOTE-GERMANOS retail network will be able to buy a smartphone or a tabletbenefiting from a discount up to 20€[1].
