Herambiente, a Hera Group company and nationwide leader in waste treatment and recovery, has successfully completed its acquisition of a number of environmental business branches from Geo Nova Spa. In particular, Herambiente has taken over the hazardous and non-hazardous waste storage plant in San Vito al Tagliamento (Pordenone) and the active landfills for non-hazardous waste in Loria (Treviso) and Sommacampagna (Verona).

This operation has allowed the Hera Group to further expand its operating area in the North-East, a region in which it has been present since 2013 thanks to the integration of AcegasAps (Padua and Trieste) and, as of 1 July 2014, of Amga (Udine), now brought together in the subsidiary AcegasApsAmga.

In particular, this acquisition is in line with the development and commercial reinforcement strategies concerning areas in which Herambiente is already active. This extension of the company's range of plants allows it to provide a more complete offer to its clients in the Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia regions, in which it already owns and manages waste-to-energy plants in Padua and Trieste and a storage plant in Padua.

Geo Nova has been operating for 20 years in the sectors of urban and industrial waste treatment, recovery and disposal. The plants taken over by Herambiente treated a total of 150 thousand tonnes of waste in 2014, with a turnover of over € 10 million.
