Hermès International specializes in the design, manufacturing, and marketing of luxury products. Net sales break down by activity as follows:
- sale in stores under the Hermès name (84.1%): sales of purses, luggage, planners, saddlery items, and small leather goods (56.7% of net sales), fashion, shoes, and accessories (24.2%), silk products (14.6%), jewellery and home decoration products (4.5%);
- sale in specialized stores (12%): sale of perfumes (44.1% of sales), clock and watchmaking articles (41.4%), and table decoration products (14.5%);
- other (3.9%): sale of shoes under the John Lobb name and subcontracted production services (primarily for perfumes and textile printing).
At the end of 2012, the group had a network of 323 points of sale, consisting of subsidiaries (205) and concession stores (118).
Net sales break down geographically as follows: France (16%), Europe (19%), Japan (15.6%), Asia/Pacific (31.6%), Americas (16.3%) and other (1.5%).
