HP's $600 Million IT Services Deal with GM at Risk

A $600 million a year Hewlett-Packard Co. (>> Hewlett-Packard Company) information technology contract seems at risk in light of a plan by client General Motors Co. (>> General Motors Company) to take much of its IT work in-house, Reuters reported Friday citing two sources with knowledge of the matter.
One of the sources said the GM deal is one of the larger ones at H-P, according to Reuters.
The companies declined to comment to Reuters.
GM's Chief Information Officer Randy Mott is leading the charge to hire thousands of IT experts and lessen the auto maker's dependence on outsourcing.
