Hexcel is exhibiting at the Singapore Air Show taking place at Changi Exhibition Centre, 16-21 February. At stand E09, in the French Pavilion, Hexcel will be promoting its composite technologies for aerospace and supporting customers in the region.

Hexcel will promote its full range of composite materials - from carbon fiber and fabrics, through to prepregs, honeycombs and the latest innovations. Hexcel will also promote materials for composite repair to meet the increasing requirement for airlines to carry out composite repair operations around the world as more and more composite-intensive aircraft enter service.

Speed is of the essence with composite repair in order to minimize aircraft downtime. So small quantities of repair materials have to be readily available at all times. Hexcel and its distributors provide solutions for MRO that allow aircraft repairs to be carried out quickly and conveniently.

Hexcel will showcase the Composite AeroBox from Sunaero that was developed to provide an efficient, easy-to-transport tool kit containing everything needed to repair parts quickly in the field. The Aerobox has a compartment for the storage of prepreg in its frozen state. Other compartments allow ancillary materials to be stored at ambient temperature, and the Aerobox also incorporates a hot bonder control panel.

Hexcel's product range for composite repair includes HexPly® M20 prepreg and HexForce® carbon fabrics. HexPly® M20 prepreg provides high temperature performance from a low energy cure cycle at 120-130°C (250-265°F) and can be processed in the field using a vacuum bag and a heater blanket or hot bonder - or in an autoclave. These materials are approved by the Commercial Aircraft Composite Repair Committee (CACRC) that sets global aerospace standards for composite repair operations.

In addition to the air show promotions, Hexcel is also participating in the associated A*Star Aerospace Technology Leadership Forum. On Monday, February 15, Hexcel's VP Research & Technology, Dr. Paul Mackenzie, will be presenting the build rate challenges for composite applications in single aisle aircraft and discussing the developments in products and processing technologies that will be required to meet these rate increases.

Hexcel is well represented in the Asia Pacific Region with sales offices in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; Shanghai, China; and Yokohama, Japan. Hexcel also has representatives in Melbourne, Australia; Bangalore, India; and Seoul, Korea. Hexcel manufactures industrial prepregs at a manufacturing plant in Tianjin, China. Hexcel also has a joint venture with Boeing, Aerospace Composites Malaysia (ACM), which makes parts for Boeing's commercial programs including the 737 MAX, 747-8, 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliner.

Hexcel Corporation is a leading advanced composites company. It develops, manufactures and markets lightweight, high-performance structural materials, including carbon fibers, reinforcements, prepregs, honeycomb, matrix systems, adhesives and composite structures, used in commercial aerospace, space and defense and industrial applications such as wind turbine blades.
