The Dun & Bradstreet Corporate Awards seeks to recognise and felicitate corporate India's leading companies across various sectors. The Awards event is closely tied to the publication, 'India's Top 500 Companies'. Therefore, the base universe of the companies considered for the Dun & Bradstreet corporate awards is made of the companies being featured in the publication. The first edition of D&B Top 500 companies came in the year 1997. D&B boasts of an in-house proprietary model to identify best performing companies in the Indian corporate sector. An awards methodology is applied to this list of top 500 companies, duly classified in their respective sectors. The parameters considered for ranking the companies include total income, net profit, net worth, net profit margin, return on net worth, and average market capitalization among others. Winners are then chosen on bases of a composite score of these weighted parameters. The main criteria involved in shortlisting companies include both private sector companies as well as public sector enterprises (PSEs) that are listed on main stock exchanges.

Dun & Bradstreet's 'India's Top 500 Companies and Corporate Awards 2016' event served as an ideal platform for companies to demonstrate their thought leadership in the corporate sector. Accordingly, attendees include Government of India allied Ministries and Agencies, MDs/CEOs/CFOs/CMOs of Leading Indian Corporates and Multi-National Companies, Fortune 500 Companies, Banks, Financial Institutions, FIIs, Chambers of Commerce & Embassies, Consultancy Firms & Stock Exchanges globally.
