The contract will generate revenue to CPB Contractors of approximately $180 million. CIMIC Group Chief Executive Officer Adolfo Valderas said: 'The CIMIC Group's diverse capabilities and major project experience position us strongly for Department of Defence works, such as the C‐17A project.

'Our track record is underpinned by the effective completion of challenging building and engineering works, often undertaken in complex and fully‐operational environments, and without disruption to critical activities or services.'

CPB Contractors Managing Director Román Garrido said: 'Our team's history of successfully delivering defence infrastructure is extensive and includes the flexible and responsive management of works programs so that they are delivered on time and within budget.

'The C‐17A project is significant in that it will upgrade aircraft fleet facilities to world‐class standard and improve the engineering and maintenance operations at the RAAF's largest base in Australia.'

As managing contractor, CPB Contractors will deliver a new maintenance facility, aircraft apron and associated airfield infrastructure and ground support equipment facilities.

Construction is scheduled to commence in February 2017 and conclude in October 2018.

The RAAF Base Amberley is located 40km south‐west of Brisbane on the outskirts of Ipswich.
