HOCHTIEF : CIMIC's CPB Contractors wins $134m Junee prison upgrades mehr

The design and construct contract will generate revenue to CPB Contractors of approximately $134 million.

CPB Contractors Managing Director Román Garrido said: 'We will continue to work with Corrective Services NSW and Justice Infrastructure to achieve innovative and cost-effective solutions for this project.

'Developing increased job and work opportunities for local workers and businesses is also a priority for our team as the project progresses.'

As managing contractor, CPB Contractors will expand the existing prison to create a total of 480 new beds, incorporating new maximum security and administration buildings; demolish or relocate existing buildings; and refurbish existing infrastructure to support the prison's increased capacity.

Construction is scheduled to commence in mid-2017 and conclude in 2019.

Situated on 106 hectares of land on the outskirts of the town of Junee in the Riverina region of NSW, the Junee Correctional Centre is a minimum to medium security correctional centre for men. It is located 40km from Wagga Wagga and 450km west of Sydney.
