Honeywell International Assigned Patent for Self-Destructing Electronic Device

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 10 -- Honeywell International, Morris Plains, New Jersey, has been assigned a patent (9,812,407) developed by three co-inventors for a self-destructing electronic device. The co-inventors are Jeff A. Ridley, Shorewood, Minnesota, Steven Tin, Plymouth, Minnesota, and Jeffrey James Kriz, Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The abstract states: "A self destructing device includes: at least one active electronic region and at least one thermal destruction trigger; at least one chamber enclosed by the semiconducting material, wherein the at least one chamber contains an etchant material, wherein in response to activation of the at least one thermal destruction trigger, the self-destructing device is configured to: generate heat to cause decomposition of at least a first portion of the etchant material; decompose at least a first portion of the etchant material; etch at least a second portion of the second oxide layer provided between the semiconducting material and the at least one chamber at a first temperature; expose the etchant material to the semiconducting material to cause an exothermic reaction generating more heat; enable spread of the exothermic reaction to etch at least a third portion of the first oxide layer and to etch the top layer."

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 10 -- Antares Pharma, Ewing, New Jersey, has been assigned a patent (9,808,582) developed by two co-inventors for a two-stage reconstituting injector. The co-inventors are Thomas E. Kramer, Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Peter L. Sadowski, Woodbury, Minnesota. The abstract states: "An injector (10) for injecting a medicament into a patient. The injector includes a container (18) defining a first chamber (22), which contains a fluid therein, and a second chamber (23). The injector also includes an injection conduit (126) configured for directing the fluid fired from the container into the patient. A transfer mechanism is operable by a user to transfer the fluid from the first chamber to the second chamber in a first stage of operation, and a firing mechanism is operable by the user for firing the fluid from the second chamber through the injection conduit in a second stage of operation. An energy source (62) is in powering association with the firing mechanism to drive firing mechanism in the first and second stages."

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 10 -- Bosch Automotive Service Solutions, Warren, Michigan, and Robert Bosch GmbH, Stuttgart, Germany, have been assigned a patent (9,808,920) developed by four co-inventors for a "tool and method for removing a wheel hub assembly." The co-inventors are Kevin Rich, Columbus, Indiana, Robert Kochie, Dodge Center, Minnesota, Robert Jensen, Clarks Grove, Minnesota, and Dennis Hanson, Medford, Minnesota. The abstract states: "A wheel hub removal tool is provided that allows a single technician to readily remove the hub using the vehicle steering. The tool is a generally U-shaped bracket that is seated on the ball-joint to support a pair of arms on opposite sides of the U-joint assembly. The arms carry corresponding blocks that are sized to seat between the drive axle housing and a component of the U-joint that is coupled to the wheel hub.
