HONG KONG EXCHANGES AND CLEARING LIMITED HKEX Announces Appointee for New Clearing Positions
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) has appointed Roland Chai as Managing Director, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of its Clearing Division and Head of Clearing Risk Solutions, effective today. He reports to Calvin Tai, HKEX's Joint Chief Operating Officer and Head of Clearing.
Clearing Division COO and Head of Risk Solutions are new positions that reflect HKEX's commitment to be the risk management centre for China-related assets.
Mr Chai has worked in various exchanges, clearing houses, financial institutions and consultancies since 1996. Prior to his appointment by HKEX, he was Head of Equities at LCH.Clearnet Ltd, a clearing house that handles securities, derivatives and other products, and based in London.
Mr Chai has a double degree in Law and Arts from the University of Sydney in Australia.
