Horizon North Matting Solutions - A History

Dating back to their birth as Swamp Mats Inc., the Horizon North matting team is viewed as the pioneer of matting as an industrial service. Entering the early 2000s, a changing demand profile along with the expansion of locations for oil and gas drilling created a market for new access solutions. A previous reliance on trucks to haul equipment was now proving unsafe and expensive as movement through mud and precarious terrain was required to reach those new locations and respond to demand. Enter Swamp Mats™ with their pioneering matting solution.

The Future

With Horizon North matting solutions, we don't need roads to take our customers where they need to go. Looking to the future, though, a roadmap is a great thing to have.

Matting installation and soil stabilization services will continue to be a key offering for Horizon North customers, with efforts focused on continuing growth in both divisions, increasing our number of operators in line with those increases, and expanding our market in soil stabilization.
