New import handling office in Hong Kong promotes further development and quality of DIY group?s international merchandise procurement

Bornheim bei Landau/Pfalz, August 28, 2014. Hornbach-Baumarkt-AG has launched operations at an import handling office in Hong Kong. The DIY group is thus further extending its purchasing competence and quality management in South-East Asian procurement markets.

The procurement company Hornbach Asia Ltd. is tailored to meet the specific needs of the Hornbach-Baumarkt-AG Group, which operates a current total of 144 DIY megastores with garden centers in nine European countries. One of Hornbach?s objectives here is to improve the lines of communication with production sites in its international merchandise procurement and further optimize its procurement logistics. Not only that, the new interface with suppliers will enable Hornbach to promote quality management directly on location. The Managing Director of Hornbach Asia Ltd. is Nikolaus Soukup, a longstanding Hornbach employee who has held several leading positions, most recently as head of procurement in Romania.
