Scott+Scott, Attorneys at Law, LLP (“Scott+Scott”), a global investor rights law firm, reminds investors that June 21, 2016 is the last day to file lead plaintiff papers in the securities lawsuit against Horsehead Holding Corp. (“Horsehead” or “Company”) (ZINC) and certain of its directors (collectively, “Defendants”). Horsehead investors are encouraged to contact Scott+Scott at (800) 404-7770 or email scottcases@scott-scott.com to discuss their legal rights.

Horsehead (ZINC) is a leading U.S. producer of zinc metal and a leading recycler of electric arc furnace dust. Horsehead derives the majority of its revenues from the sale of zinc.

About the Lawsuit

The complaint alleges that between May 21, 2014 and February 2, 2016, inclusive (the “Class Period”), Defendants failed to disclose that challenging construction defects and operational problems resulting from fundamental engineering and operational defects at a facility located in Mooresboro, North Carolina (the “Mooresboro Facility”) had left the facility unable to operate as planned. As a result, Horsehead did not have sufficient liquidity to sustain it through the full ramp-up of the Mooresboro Facility.

According to the complaint, the value of Horsehead shares declined significantly following a December 10, 2015 ratings downgrade of the Company's corporate debt by Moody’s, the January 2016 decisions by Horsehead to enter a grace period after missing an interest payment to certain holders of Horsehead’s convertible senior notes and forbearance agreements on several credit agreements, the January 22, 2016 Horsehead announcement that it was idling the Mooresboro Facility and laying off most employees at the site, and the February 2, 2016 announcement that Horsehead had filed for bankruptcy.
