HSBC Holdings is one of the world's leading banking groups. Net interest income (including intragroup) breaks down by activity as follows:
- retail banking (52.2%): sales of classical and specialized banking products and services (consumer loans, leasing, factoring, private card management, etc.);
- commercial banking (26.6%);
- investment, financing and market banking (17.9%): operations on the capital markets, operations on rates, change rates and natural resources, merger and acquisition consulting, initial public offerings, capital investment, specialized and unionized financing solutions, etc.;
- private banking (3.3%).
At the end of 2012, the group had EUR1,013.8 billion in current deposits and EUR754.7 billion in current credits.
Net interest income breaks down as follows: Europe (27.6%), North America (21.6%), South America (18.5%), Hong Kong (14.1%), Asia/Pacific (14.3%) and Middle East (3.9%).
