In the 2016 financial year, net sales rose by 4.4% to CHF 737 million. On an organic basis - without portfolio, currency and copper effects - growth in sales was at around the same level. Order intake grew faster than net sales to CHF 747 million (+6.2%) and thus exceeded the latter.

This pleasing growth was mainly led by the communication market. HUBER+SUHNER managed to gain market share from major communication equipment manufacturers and recorded further success in the Fiber-to-the-Antenna application. The Cube Optics business unit also made a major contribution to the growth.

Sales in the transportation and industrial markets moved sideways. In the transportation market, sales in the railway sub-segment fell whilst those in the automotive business grew significantly. In the industrial market, positive stimulus came above all in the Aerospace+Defense sub-segment with a strong contribution from HUBER+SUHNER Astrolab.

HUBER+SUHNER confirms an EBIT margin at the upper end of the target range of 6-9% for the 2016 financial year. The final, detailed financial results will be presented by the company at the media and analysts conference on 14 March 2017.
