Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM) has expanded the health plan choices for Medicare beneficiaries in six New Hampshire counties with multiple new Humana Medicare Advantage plan offerings during the 2018 Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plan Annual Enrollment Period, or AEP.

During the AEP, which runs from Oct. 15 through Dec. 7, 2017, Medicare beneficiaries in Belkamp, Carroll, Hillsborough, Merrimack, Rockingham and Strafford counties can enroll in one of several new Humana PPO Medicare plans with coverage taking effect Jan. 1, 2018.

The new Humana Medicare Advantage PPO plans provide people with Medicare in these New Hampshire counties with affordable alternatives to original Medicare only, or original Medicare paired with a Medicare Supplement plan. With these plans, members can enjoy all the benefits of original Medicare, as well as prescription drug coverage on most plans along with added benefits and important financial protections.

Humana Medicare plans offer members the choice of no or low monthly plan premiums, low co-payments for doctor visits and annual routine physicals, coverage for most annual screenings at no charge, a broad network of physicians, specialists and hospitals, and emergency coverage anywhere in the world.

“Humana believes it’s important for people with Medicare to find the right health care and wellness solutions, especially since their needs might change as they age,” said Alexander Clague, Regional President of Senior Products for Humana’s Northeast Region. “We’ve listened to what people with Medicare in New Hampshire want and used our experience in health benefits to give them more options that fit their health needs so they can start with healthy.”

The Humana Medicare Advantage health plans will also include access to Humana’s nurse support service and SilverSneakers, which provides members with memberships at participating fitness centers and access to classes designed with the Medicare beneficiary in mind.

Humana Medicare Advantage is an alternative to original Medicare, not a supplement plan. For more information about enrolling in any Humana plans, visit www.Humana.com/Medicare or call the Humana New Hampshire office at 603.766.4912 Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
