RobecoSAM named Humana the Health Care Providers & Services Industry Leader in its 2017 Sustainability Yearbook – making this the fourth consecutive year Humana has earned the honor and “Gold Class distinction” for excellent sustainability performance. Humana received the recognition as a result of its multifaceted approach to improving health and well-being. From its philanthropic efforts to its commitment to inclusion, Humana stood out among its peers. Military Friendly Employers
Victory Media named Humana a Top 10 Gold-level Military Friendly Employer on its 2017 list, which distinguishes elite companies with the strongest job opportunities, hiring practices and retention programs for transitioning service members seeking civilian employment. Humana placed No. 7 in the U.S. on the prestigious list. This is the fifth time Humana has made the list.

Healthy Planet: Environmental Stewardship

Humana earned an “A-” score from CDP for the company’s 2016 submission, the highest grade awarded to a U.S. health care provider. The score recognizes Humana for its leadership in implementing current best practices in environmental stewardship, and the company’s actions and approaches in managing climate change. Humana has been scored by the CDP on its climate change mitigation efforts for five consecutive years and scores well as a result of its strategic approach to managing its environmental footprint.

ET Index Research, which ranks the world’s largest companies according to greenhouse gas emissions and disclosure, named Humana as an Industry Carbon Leader for 2016 in its annual ET Carbon Rankings. Humana is ranked third in the “Health Care: Insurance and Managed Care” industry on the 2017 FORTUNE World’s Most Admired Companies list. On one of the FORTUNE components – social responsibility – Humana ranked at the top of the health insurance industry.

Forbes & JUST Capital “JUST 100 List”
Humana received the top spot in the “Healthcare Providers & Services” category on JUST Capital and Forbes’ inaugural JUST 100 List. The new list highlights top publicly traded companies within 32 major industries. The rankings are based on a comprehensive survey of Americans’ perceptions of corporate behavior as it relates to the issues that matter most to them. Humana’s high rate of job creation and fitness programs that help associates reduce their personal health risks contributed to the ranking.

Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index
In 2017 and for the fifth consecutive year, Humana received a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2017 Corporate Equality Index. The index evaluates companies on a scale from 0 to 100 percent on LGBT-related policies and practices, including transgender health benefits and domestic partner benefits. Humana’s 2015-2016 Inclusion & Diversity Annual Report outlines the company’s work in support of the LGBT community, which includes raising awareness around people who are transgender and empowering Pride, the company’s LGBT Network Resource Group.
