Distinction marks second consecutive year for Hyatt to be named as a top employer by this leading Chicago publication

CHICAGO (November 12, 2013) - Hyatt today announced that the Chicago Tribune has named Hyatt and its Chicagoland hotels as the number six workplace in Chicago. This is the company's second year ranking in the top six on the list of "Top 100 Workplaces" of large companies, which is determined through a survey of employees from more than 250 local companies. Individual Chicago-area Hyatt hotels have been recognized in past years in the midsize and small categories for being a top employer, but this is the second year that all Hyatt locations are being recognized together by the Chicago Tribune.

More than 3,600 Hyatt colleagues across eight Chicagoland Hyatt hotels and the company's corporate headquarters downtown, credited Hyatt for its strong values and ethics, positive and supportive management team, clear communications, quality job training, and excellent pay and benefits.

"The wellbeing of our colleagues at Hyatt is fundamental to the success of our business because they are the ones who provide authentic hospitality to our guests each day," said Robb Webb, chief human resources officer, Hyatt Hotels Corporation. "At the core of our approach is genuine care for one another and for those we serve. We believe building true emotional connections amongst our team and with our guests will power our business and will distinguish Hyatt in the marketplace."

In addition to Hyatt's corporate office, Hyatt hotels included in the honor this year include Hyatt Regency Chicago, Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Hyatt Regency O'Hare, Park Hyatt Chicago, The Hyatt Lodge, Hyatt Place Chicago/Hoffman Estates, Hyatt Place Chicago/Itasca, and Hyatt Place Chicago/Lombard/Oak Brook.

Hyatt's Record as a Preferred Employer

Hyatt continues to receive a variety of national distinctions for its workplace environment, including being named to the list of Top 50 Best Places to Work in 2013 by Glassdoor.com's employees' choice awards and receiving the 2013 Gallup Great Workplace Award for success in creating an engaged workplace culture for the second consecutive year. Additionally, The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek and Experience.com have named Hyatt as a desired employer for recent graduates and young professionals. AARP has named Hyatt as a top employer for older Americans, and CareerBliss recently named Hyatt the happiest hotel company.

Hyatt is continually recognized as a leader in promoting and nurturing a diverse workforce. The company has been honored by numerous respected third-party organizations, including the Human Rights Campaign, Diversity MBA magazine, Hispanic Network magazine, Hispanic Business magazine and the NAACP, for its programs supporting women, LGBT, Hispanic and African-American associates.
