LOS ANGELES, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Multimedia entertainment studio Electus, an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ: IACI) and Darius Films today announces the sale of Iron Belly to BBC America and HBO Canada. Electus serves as the production studio for the series, which is co-produced by Electus and LA and Toronto-based film and TV production company, Darius Films. The order from the networks is a script with a goal to commission a series.

The 19th century scripted series depicts a floating prison sailing from Ireland to Australia. What starts as a simple - but brutal - journey across the sea becomes a study of humanity above and below the decks. Follow Captain Byron Gibbons, a relentlessly ambitious empire-builder and Cormac O'Brien, a naive Irish rebel convict who sheds his idealism to become the most dangerous man on board, as they travel to the land down under.
