  • CFO Sebastian Giese will leave the management board as planned by the end of the year
  • German branch office will close by the end of the year  

Rosebank/Berlin, 19 December 2014. Ichor Coal N.V., an international mining company with a focus on thermal coal production in South Africa, announces that its CFO Sebastian Giese will leave the management board by the end of the year. Reinhardt van Wyk - Finance Manager - will take over his duties at the start of 2015 on an interim basis. Simultaneously the IchorCoal branch office in Berlin will be closed and the company will then be managed exclusively from its headquarters in Rosebank by the management board members ? Nonkululeko Nyembezi-Heita (CEO) and Andries Engelbrecht (COO). The incorporation in the Netherlands and the trading of the company's shares and debt instruments on the German stock markets will remain unchanged.

Sebastian Giese has been with IchorCoal since its incorporation in 2011. The shareholders re-elected him for another year in 2013 to ensure the smooth transfer of the IchorCoal headquarters from Berlin to Rosebank. "With his wide experience of the company's activities in both coal production and financing, Sebastian has made a significant contribution to the growth of IchorCoal since its inception," says CEO Nonkululeko Nyembezi-Heita. "We regret that he has decided to leave us and wish him all the best for the future."

Reinhardt van Wyk will take over Sebastian Giese's duties with effect from January 1st, 2015. He has had a successful career as a chartered accountant and auditor and has been with the company since September 2014. Suitable arrangements have been made to ensure a smooth transition.
