WESTBROOK, Maine, March 11, 2013- IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. announces the North America launch of a new direct-capture solution in its line of IDEXX I-Vision Digital Imaging Systems. The family now includes three system offerings: the new IDEXX I-Vision DR® System and the IDEXX I-Vision CR® System (both powered by IDEXX-PACS™ Imaging Software) and the IDEXX I-Vision CR® System with Capture™ Imaging Software. With this launch, IDEXX radiography offers options to fit the needs of practices of all sizes, providing the efficiency, speed and image quality that lets them better serve their patients and clients.

"IDEXX Digital Imaging continues to focus on innovations that not only give staff more quality time with patients and clients, but also ensure that our systems evolve with individual practice requirements," says Penny Guyton, Senior Director and General Manager of IDEXX Digital Imaging. "With the range of digital imaging choices in the market, it's important for veterinary practices to consider what happens after their system is out of the box. Are there ongoing software and system upgrades? In addition to helping configure the system to fit specific practice needs, installing it and training the staff, IDEXX will be there for the long haul with unmatched customer service, support, education and software enhancements such as the Image Coach™ tools in IDEXX-PACS™ 3.6 that guide technicians in optimizing image quality in real time."

The latest addition to the IDEXX radiography product line, the IDEXX I-Vision DR System captures images in seconds. Its slim profile allows for easy retrofits to existing exam rooms and faster installations. This system is powered by IDEXX-PACS, which features industry-leading diagnostic software tools for viewing and enhancing images so practitioners have the highest level of diagnostic confidence.

"With digital imaging, we're more apt to take the images we need," says James Moebius, DVM, of Murphy Road Animal Hospital in Sachse, Texas. "When you're using film, especially when it's not an easy patient to handle, there's a part of you that says it's not worth the hassle. When you know you're going to get a good image the first time, you're more likely to order it. If you're taking more images, it improves patient care as well as your bottom line. You're making better decisions, and that's good for everyone."

The IDEXX I-Vision DR System is available now. To learn more about IDEXX digital imaging systems, call 1-855-627-6573 or visit idexx.com/ivisiondr (U.S.) or idexx.ca/ivisiondr (Canada).
