Copeland Borough Council has partnered with Idox to implement a robust, integrated suite of cloud-based software and services aimed at reducing costs, enhancing security and introducing more efficient workflows.

Awarding the contract through the LASA framework to replace its existing IT supplier, the Council will benefit from an end-to-end, fully-hosted and managed service for Building Control, Planning and Land Charges, with Idox's Uniform and EDRMS at the core. Under the agreement, Idox will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance and upgrading of all systems, guaranteeing a resilient IT infrastructure for the Council 24/7.

The service will eliminate paper processes and deliver savings through reduced maintenance and support costs, while boosting performance by facilitating a more productive way of working.

Copeland's investment in Idox's OnSite apps will also grant greater flexibility and integration, enabling council staff to undertake site visits and complete records remotely - avoiding repeated trips back to the office.

Pat Graham, Copeland Borough Council's Chief Executive, said:

'After much due diligence, Copeland Council is delighted to be working with Idox on this very important project. We have been very impressed with their professionalism and expertise, and we are looking forward to working alongside them to support service delivery and to provide a better service for our customers. When the system is installed, it will bring huge benefits to both our officers and our customers.'

Implementation is due to commence in Summer 2018, with go-live planned for early 2019. Due to the system's scalability, the Council is already planning to extend to additional departments including Licensing and other regulatory service systems, where it will derive further efficiencies through integrated working.
