For the NHS, research provides the opportunity to grow, learn and develop towards a better, more efficient health future. As a society we know why we do research but how can we make it really count?

At a time when every penny counts for a cash-strapped NHS, the billions of pounds invested each year are expected to deliver the tangible outcomes, targets and results required.
