IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), a leading global source of critical information and insight, today announced that four companies have been selected to receive the final set of 2014 IHS SPECTRUM Excellence Awards. This prestigious industry award program spotlights organizations and individuals around the world who make critical decisions and achieve their business goals through innovative use of information, analytics and expertise. The new group of award winners represents four major market sectors including the automotive, chemical, oil and gas, and marine industries.

“Each day, we see enterprises around the world making choices that change lives in ways both big and small – from ground-level tactics to high-level strategy – by leveraging best-in-class economic, operational and technical expertise,” said Scott Key, president and chief executive officer of IHS. “We are delighted to recognize our award winners’ successes and we look forward to continuing our support of their work in the future.”

Established in 2006, this popular industry award program was expanded in 2014 to honor achievements across not only a broader assortment of markets but also a growing number of professional disciplines and geographic regions.

The latest and final round of 2014 IHS SPECTRUM Excellence Award winners includes:

CityTwist – As a partner to hundreds of US auto dealers, this email advertising firm enabled them to increase web traffic, lower marketing costs per vehicle, sell more incremental vehicles per email, and earn higher profits. In the process, this firm has acquired new dealers to achieve 100 percent year-over-year growth for three years and maintained strong client loyalty with 81 percent renewals.

Svitzer – This global leader gained a competitive edge when it strengthened its safety culture to become the first tugboat company to fully comply with Offshore Vessel Management and Self- Assessment standards as well as decreasing lost-time incidents by 66 percent; reducing monthly average of total incidents by 80 percent; and training 1,700 employees on new safety protocols.
