Ten energy innovation pioneers have been selected to present at the executive conference of IHS CERAWeek 2016, February 22-26 at the Hilton Americas – Houston.

IHS CERAWeek is recognized as a leading forum providing insight into the energy future. Chaired by Daniel Yergin, vice chairman of business information provider IHS Inc. (NYSE: IHS), IHS CERAWeek 2016 -- Energy Transition: Strategies for a New World --will mark the event’s 35th anniversary. IHS CERAWeek will convene more than 2,800 delegates from more than 50 countries and more than 300 speakers to provide fresh thinking and critically-important dialogue on the most urgent issues and realities to be faced in energy markets, technologies and geopolitics.

The Energy Innovation Pioneers program, held annually in conjunction with IHS CERAWeek, aims to identify the most innovative and distinctive new technologies in the energy spectrum, including upstream oil & gas, water management, advanced analytics, energy efficiency, fusion energy, and electricity storage.

Each entrepreneur will participate in one of three sessions that explore their respective experience and insights in commercializing new technology.

  • February 22, 5:45 – 6:30 p.m. CST: Innovation and the Water-Energy Nexus
  • February 23, 7:30 – 8:45 a.m. CST: Accelerating Game Changing Oil and Gas Technologies to Manage an Industry in Transition
  • February 24, 11:45 – 12:45 p.m. CST: New Power Technologies – Innovating to Meet the Climate Change Imperative

“Responding to the near-term challenge of energy market turbulence and the longer-term goals of the Paris Climate Agreement are two key themes of this year’s conference,” said Kristian Bodek, IHS energy director and co-chair of the program. “The 2016 class of pioneers epitomize the important role that early-stage ventures will play in helping the energy industry address these and other key issues.”

“Through shifting priorities and changes in investment levels, low energy prices and uncertainty in the future energy landscape are also impacting innovation and technology development in the energy industry,” said Carolyn Seto, IHS Energy director and co-chair. “As a testament to the strength of their technology and nimbleness of these companies, this year’s class represents solutions to these challenges as well as potential players in the future energy landscape.”

This year’s pioneers were chosen based on their potential to transform the energy future. Criteria included creativity, feasibility of plan, scalability of technology and leadership team. The Energy Innovation Pioneers for 2016 include:

  • 24M – Throop Wilder, President, CEO, and Co-Founder
