More than 60 Implenia apprentices celebrate the end of their course - Most are starting their professional careers at Implenia | Targeted support and giving people personal responsibility are the keys to success

Dietlikon, 7 July 2017 - More than 60 Implenia apprentices from nine different disciplines gathered on Thursday to celebrate the successful completion of their courses. Joined by their parents and trainers, they took a boat trip on Lake Zug to commemorate their years of hard work. CEO Anton Affentranger was also on hand to help mark this important milestone in the careers of these young new professionals. He had some heartfelt words of advice for them: "The journey will continue and take you on to further staging posts in your working lives. Stay curious and stay open to new experiences."

The majority of those celebrating their graduation on Thursday will be continuing to work within the Implenia Group. One of them is 20-year-old Sergio Rui from Canton Baselland, who achieved his EFZ masonry qualification with flying colours. His good marks were due in part to careful preparation: "All the apprentices in Basel were able to practice the examination tasks at Implenia beforehand. I was able to use this experience when it came to the actual exam." He also says that individual support during the course helped the apprentices improve their skills systematically.

Implenia's training strategy focuses on providing targeted support for apprentices and giving them personal responsibility. During their course, on-site and office-based apprentices are given a variety of projects to complete independently. In Lenzerheide, for example, apprentices from Chur built various walls for Hotel Lai. Owing to the positive feedback from apprentices about these kinds of project, and because of the sustainable learning process involved, Implenia intends to include even more of them in its training for young professionals. After all, producing well-trained employees is part of our responsibility to society, as well as being the key to Implenia's future success.
