As a socially responsible company focused on sustainable development INA offered to customers a new 'green' service - collecting used cooking oil. A pilot project was launched at 30 selected retail locations in Central Croatia. All those who are already recycling used cooking oil or will begin doing that can come to INA's selected locations and get free INA funnel which will facilitate the collection of used cooking oil in your own households.
In Croatia, households produce around 9 million liters of used cooking oil annually, more than 2 liters per inhabitant. Used cooking oil is by no means a place in the drain. Although it is degradable, if it ends up in the environment in larger quantities, it can temporarily pollute the soil and jeopardize plant growth, and in water can also endanger the animal world because it catches on the fur and feathers. At the same time, it is also a valuable raw material because recycled used cooking oil is used in the production of bio diesel, soap, detergents and synthetic rubbers.
