The International Symposium of Fuels & Lubricants (ISFL), 2014, is being organised by IndianOil and ISFL Society in the National Capital Region. Delivering the special address on the occasion, Mr. Saurabh Chandra, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, said, "The country needs a multi-pronged and coordinated approach of focused research in multidisciplinary fields. There is no single answer to the question of energy security." He added that the ninth edition of ISFL would contribute to the collective understanding of issues in this direction and come out with time-bound action plans for carrying out futuristic research to improve energy security in all sectors.

Delivering the inaugural address at the three-day event, Mr. RS Butola, Chairman, IndianOil, said, "It is times like these when refining margins are under stress that brings out the best innovations. The industry needs to focus on renewable sources to achieve energy security", he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. RK Malhotra, Director (R&D), IndianOil, said, "The ninth edition of this international symposium is being organised on the theme - Advances in Fuels, Lubricants & Alternatives. ISFL is held biennially to share the latest developments and forge new business relationships in the fuels and lubricant industry. Over 300 delegates from petroleum, automobile and allied industries as well as environmentalists are attending this event," he added.

Besides covering the latest developments in the areas of fuels and lubricants, ISFL-2014 is according special emphasis to novel Refinery processes and catalysts for producing cleaner fuels as well as utilisation of alternative fuels, bio-fuels and bio-lubricants.
