Recently, alongside China Securities was listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, IB's first private bank 'cross-border investment consultation service' project was launched, which granted H stock of China Securities of $16 million to four ultrahigh-net-worth clients and met needs of overseas asset allocation. This indicated that IB's private bank 'consultation-driven' strategy successfully extended to overseas market and services of private bank were bolstered.

Against the backdrop of slow Chinese economic growth and a lack of high-quality assets, it was difficult to maintain high rate of return for traditional fixed return products. Plus exchange rate of USD against RMB rose, so ultrahigh-net-worth clients were increasingly willing to conduct overseas assets allocation. Cross-border investment consultation service launched by IB's private bank was designed for ultrahigh-net-worth clients. Based on clear understanding of clients' demand for investment, diagnosis of risk preference and pre-judge of endurance capacity, it took advantage of resources and channels of Hong Kong market, seized investment opportunities, targeted object of asset at the first batch of securities merchants of HK Equities-placing of H stock of China Securities, and realized 'custom-made' design of overseas investment by ultrahigh-net-worth clients.

In recent years, in order to satisfy needs of ultrahigh-net-worth clients, IB's private bank took several measures, such as 'going overseas by borrowing ships'. It cooperated with Lombard Odier, the world's oldest Swiss private bank with a history of 218 years, offered global asset allocation, product design and overseas high-end value-added service to clients based on open product and service platform of Lombard Odier, and actively explored overseas wealth; incorporated 'global real estate' into exclusive services of private bank clients; together with Jones Lang LaSalle and Colliers International, two well-known real state consultancies, it also provided real estate related consultation service for clients, assisted clients in overseas housing purchase and real estate management and improving clients' wealth planning.

Xue Ruifeng, general manager of Private Bank Dep. of IB, revealed that IB plans to establish private bank overseas business platform in Hong Kong, deepens 'consultation-driven' transformation strategy, acts as a consultant, relies on more professional and diversified service, helps ultrahigh-net-worth clients make overseas investment plans, and offers suggestions on cross-border and overseas investment transactions as well as resource information covering overseas IPO, placing and M&A.
