“This agreement strengthens the Lufthansa Technik portfolio by adding an avionics retrofit capability,” said Thomas Rückert, Vice President Base Maintenance Services, Lufthansa Technik AG in Hamburg, Germany. “Lufthansa Technik services the Boeing 737 Classics and the 757/767 for different customers and we feel the IS&S Flat Panel Display System adds value and extends the operating life of these aircraft.”

“The Lufthansa Technik AG is a premier MRO in the aviation industry,” says Shahram Askarpour, President of IS&S. “We are excited to partner with Lufthansa Technik and look forward to providing our existing and new customer base with expanded locations for purchase and installation.”

The IS&S flight deck upgrade replaces aging flight instruments on the Classic Series Boeing 737 and the 757/767 utilizing a common 10.4-inch LCD display architecture that IS&S developed and certified to increase operational performance, improve dispatch and on-time arrival, simplify maintenance, enhance situational awareness and improve safety for legacy aircraft. In service on over 320 Boeing 757/767 aircraft the IS&S retrofit decreases power consumption and weight resulting in fuel savings and reduced CO2 emissions and achieves 3 and 10 day MMEL approval all within minimum installation downtime.

The FPDS offers scalable growth to satisfy operators’ demands today, as well as a platform for NextGen and SESAR requirements. The FPDS is CPDLC, RNP, ADS-B In-Trail capable and offers the option of Class 3 E-Charts with own ship position.
