Under its NRMA Insurance brand, IAG is the largest CTP Green Slip insurer in NSW, covering approximately 1.8 million vehicles.

IAG Executive General Manager Consumer Distribution Amanda Whiting said it is a significant day for NSW motorists who can look forward to more affordable CTP Green Slip premiums and better support for people injured on our roads.

'The new scheme has many benefits for motorists, including more affordable premiums and it reduces the time it takes for injured road users to receive benefits and resolve claims,' Ms Whiting said.

Motorists who purchased their CTP Green Slip policy before 1 December 2017 may be eligible for a refund for the difference between the cost of the old and new schemes.

The State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) is managing the refund process and more information is available on the SIRA website.

It will also help people injured on our roads to recover faster through easier access to rehabilitation services as well as provide benefits regardless of whether the driver is at fault.

'IAG has been calling for long-term structural reform to the NSW CTP scheme for quite some time and we're pleased to see the changes come into effect today,' Ms Whiting said.
