  2. Ten of the organization's members pledge to reduce their home electric consumption during the two months of the challenge (October and November) as compared to the same two months of last year
  3. Secure ten new enrollments from a variety of residential programs offered by WPS
  4. Track group members' energy awareness and efficiency efforts
Results will be analyzed in December 2014 and the top three organizations that successfully complete the challenge and save the most energy will be awarded a $1,500 grant. A $1000 grant will be awarded to each of the other organizations that complete the challenge.

Information about the contest is available at the Wisconsin Public Service website. Last year's results showed a cumulative energy savings of about 56,460 kilowatt hours of electricity. (An average home uses about 600 kilowatt hours each month.) The organizations realized that along with the decrease in energy use, a substantial increase in energy awareness was realized as minor lifestyle changes by each individual resulted in cumulative energy saving totals. This is the fourth year of the WPS Energy Challenge.
