Wind
River, a world leader in embedded and mobile software, has launched
its aerospace and defense regional conference series, Advancements
for 21st Century Warfare: Safe and Secure Intelligent Systems. The
conference series will showcase the latest in safety and security
solutions for aerospace and defense suppliers, with keynotes from
industry experts, as well as demonstrations of leading-edge safe and
secure platforms. The series kicks off April 21 in Dallas, Texas, with
additional dates and cities through the coming months.
Conference keynotes include sessions from world-class experts in
robotics evolution and cyber security. Dr. Peter W. Singer, author and
senior fellow and director at the Brookings Institution, will present
the keynote session "Wired for War: Understanding the Challenges of the
Robotic Evolution." In addition, cyber security and threat intelligence
leaders from McAfee Inc. will deliver the keynote "Innovations in Cyber
Security to Address 21st Century Challenges."
"Avionics and defense intelligent systems are increasingly automated,
connected, mobile and reconfigurable, and this will require cutting-edge
capabilities to ensure these systems remain safe and secure," states
Chip Downing, senior director for aerospace and defense at Wind River.
"Wind River delivers optimized embedded solutions that meet a wide range
of safety and security requirements. By coupling our proven technologies
with powerful insights from industry leaders during these conferences,
Wind River continues to advance its leadership in the aerospace and
defense market."
The Wind River aerospace and defense conference series includes parallel
education tracks covering the latest safety and security certification
standards. The event also includes demonstrations of leading-edge safe
and secure platforms from partner technology companies that expand the
COTS capabilities of Wind River platform solutions.
|
The following are the education tracks:
|
|
* Track 1: Safety-Critical Certification: Standards Update and
Architecture Innovations - including updates regarding DO-178C and
safety cases for certification
|
|
* Track 2: Innovative Security Solutions to Meet Medium and High
Assurance - including a review of the latest security features in
new silicon technology and embedded solutions
|
By engaging with top industry experts, attendees will better understand
the changing landscape for next-generation intelligent platforms based
upon multi-core silicon. The conference provides the opportunity to
learn more about advanced architectures for certified systems that are
efficiently and economically expandable to consolidated multi-OS and
multi-core platforms. Additionally, attendees can expect technical deep
dive discussions, exploring topics such as consolidated platforms that
reuse existing components to compress the time and expense of new
certification cycles, methods of deploying commercial off-the-shelf
technology to meet the requirements of future systems being proposed by
the U.S. Department of Defense, and reshaping government infrastructures
to handle warfare in the 21st century.
