Inter RAO YEES : Group has commissioned unit 4 of Perm SDPP

Inter RAO Group has commissioned a new steam-gas generating unit with the installed capacity of 861 MW at Permskaya state district power plant (SDPP). The project is on the List approved by the Russian Government of Generating Objects to be used to supply power under the power supply contracts. Due to the commissioning of the new power unit, the installed capacity of Permskaya SDPP has increased by one third to 3,261 MW, and the company is now one of the five largest thermal power plants in Russia.

The main equipment of the new generating unit comprises two gas turbines and a steam turbine with generators from Siemens and two heat recovery boilers from the Russian machine-building company EMAlliance.

Within the framework of the project, a 92-meter high cooling tower was constructed at the power facility, and the central pump station was equipped with a fish protection device, which reduces the station's impact on the environment. Due to the introduction of a recirculated water usage system, Kama reservoir water consumption for the needs of the new equipment will be 68 times lower than that of each of the operating units.

Generating unit №4 will provide a reliable power supply for the large chemical industry, ferrous and nonferrous metallurgy, timber processing and mining enterprises located in the Kama region. It will also allow the Perm region to increase energy exports to the neighboring regions - Sverdlovsk and Kirov regions, Udmurtia and Bashkortostan.
