24 February, 2015 Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Expands Southern California Footprint with Addition of Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach


SAN FRANCISCO (February 24, 2015) - Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced today it has been awarded the management contract for the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, California, a prime location property steps from the iconic Huntington Beach Pier in Southern California's famed "Surf City." The Shorebreak officially joined the Kimpton family after the property was acquired by DiamondRock Hospitality, who tapped Kimpton as the new hotel operator. This is Kimpton's eighth hotel in Southern California and the first for the brand in Orange County, joining Kimpton's portfolio of 64 hotels and over 70 restaurants, bars and lounges nationwide.

Located within The Strand, a mixed use commercial development including retail, office and parking on the corner of 6th Street and Pacific Coast Highway, the Shorebreak has 157 guest rooms, waterfront views, 3,920 square feet of meeting space and a fitness center. As a Kimpton, the hotel will now offer signature brand programs and amenities including cruiser PUBLIC Bikes and in-room yoga mats, pet friendly policies, hosted evening wine hour, coffee and tea in the living room lobby and more.

Shorebreak guests can also enjoy the full-service restaurant, Zimzala, with indoor and outdoor terrace dining and a bar and lounge area. A vibrant dining destination, Zimzala features comfortable coastal California cuisine with locally-grown produce, specialty cocktails and live music twice a week.
