Technology Association of Georgia honors 40 companies for innovation
and contributions to the state's technology community

ATLANTA - March 24, 2014 - The Technology Association of Georgia (TAG), the state's leading association dedicated to the promotion and economic advancement of Georgia's technology industry, named Internap, a high-performance Internet infrastructure provider, as one of its Top 40 Innovative Technology Companies in Georgia. TAG will recognize this prestigious group at the 2014 Georgia Technology Summit (GTS) on March 26, 2014, at the Cobb Galleria Centre.

TAG'S Top 40 Awards recognize Georgia-based technology companies for their innovation, financial impact and efforts at spreading awareness of Georgia's technology initiatives throughout the U.S. and globally.

"The 2014 Top 40 finalists are an elite group of innovators who represent the very best of Georgia's technology community," said Tino Mantella, president & CEO of TAG. "These companies are shining examples of what makes our state such a hotbed for technology and we applaud them for standing out as leaders in Georgia's technology community."

Internap Meets Performance and Cost Demands of Big Data with Bare-Metal Cloud
As demand increases for big data applications that can deliver real-time, strategic insights from consumer and market analytics, more organizations are seeking to host these workloads in the public cloud. However, big data and other computationally-intensive applications often require higher levels of performance than traditional virtualized cloud can provide. Despite the benefits, such as usage-based billing and on-demand server provisioning, performance can suffer as a result of the multi-tenancy inherent in virtualized public cloud models. In fact, a recent survey found that the top challenges of organizations hosting big data applications in the cloud were performance and cost-at-scale.

To address these pain points, Internap offers a bare-metal cloud service, a unique non-virtualized public cloud environment that more effectively supports the growth of big data and other performance-sensitive applications. Combining the dedicated processing power and speed of single-tenant servers with the on-demand provisioning and pay-as-you-go pricing typically associated with virtualized public cloud, Internap's bare-metal cloud ensures consistently high performance levels and improved cost-efficiency for distributed, large-scale application environments.

"We are honored to be recognized as one of TAG's 2014 Georgia technology leaders for our cloud and infrastructure innovations that are enhancing Atlanta's reputation as a national technology hub," said Mandira Mehra, senior vice president of marketing at Internap. "The price-performance benefits of our bare-metal cloud are helping to fuel the growth of some of today's most groundbreaking applications both locally and worldwide."

The 2014 Georgia Technology Summit is expected to draw a crowd of more than 1,300 C-level executives, entrepreneurs, technology professionals and academia to celebrate and recognize Georgia's technology community. In addition to presentations from some of the top technology influencers in the nation, the newest member of the Technology Hall of Fame of Georgia will be inducted.
